Martin A. Niland joins the D.C. Baseball Yesterday and Today staff

I am pleased to be able announce that writer Martin A. Niland has agreed to join the staff at D.C. Baseball Yesterday and Today. Martin has been covering sports and other news professionally for more than 30 years. This includes almost 10 years at The Associated Press, where he was part of the team that covered the Nats’ first home game in 2005.

Martin also bylined the AP story about the marathon D.C. Council meeting where the ballpark lease was first rejected, then approved.  Martin also covered the dispute between MASN and Comcast that resulted in Nats games being blacked out in much of the D.C. area, and was in on team coverage of the selection of the ownership group led by Ted Lerner.

Martin will cover the current Washington Nationals ball club here at D.C. Baseball Yesterday and Today. With the addition of Martin to our staff I believe our blog will now give our readers great stories about the current Nationals’ team.
