2009Ryan Zimmerman hit a two-run homer and Adam Dunn added a solo shot for the Washington Nationals (46-82) beat the Chicago Cubs (63-62) 5-4. The Nationals won a series at Wrigley Field for the first time since 2005.

Adam Dunn’s homer was his 34th home run of the season and 40th career homer against the Cubs.

2011 – Debut on this date / WAS N Chris Marrero (23)

Chris Marrero, Washington’s top pick and the overall No. 15 selection in the 2006 draft, was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. He singled to left in the fourth for his first major league hit. The Cincinnati Reds (66-66) beat the Washington Nationals (62-69) 6-3.

2013 – Washington (66-65) started a six-game home stand with a 2-1 victory over the Marlins. The Nats win is the team’s sixth in the last seven games. The Nats began the day eight games behind Cincinnati for the second NL wild-card spot.
