Agenda:
1:00 – 1:30 – Meet and Greet – featuring the Popular pre-made sandwich buffet, which includes
ham, turkey and roast beef sandwiches, condiments (Mustard, Mayo, horseradish) dill pickles, lettuce
tomato, individual bag of chips, assorted fresh fruit and assorted soft drinks.

At 1:00PM – I will be playing a recording of Senators “On Deck” pre-game show with Johnny Holliday. Before the final game at RFK stadium, a young Johnny Holliday talks to most of the Senators’ players to see how they feel about leaving Washington.

1:30 – 1:45 -Mark Hornbaker introduces guest speakers.

1:45 – 2:00 – Hank Thomas remembers Frank Ceresi

2:00 – 2:30 – Tom Holster, the founder of the Washington Baseball Historical Society and Nats News and Jim HartNats Newsley the current director of the WBHS and the editor of the Nats News.

2:30 – 3:00 – Peter Cottrell, has been entering games for Retrosheet, which are then made available to the public in their semi-annual updates. Peter, has been doing Yankee games from 1940, using copies of sportswriter Sid Mercer’s scorebooks, donated by his widow to the Hall of Fame, which Dave Smith has scanned and provided to him. Peter will be talking about the 22-game Senators-Yankees season series, Peter will talk about the players, the interesting details of the individual games, as well as letting people know more about Retrosheet.

3:00 – 3:30 – David Hubler will speak about his book “The Nats and the Grays, How Baseball in the Nation’s Capital Survived WWII and Change the Game Forever.”

3:30 – 4:00 – Martin Niland will cover the Nats first 10 years in Washington

4:00 – 5:00 – Book signings, memorabilia for sale

The hotel is located just two blocks east of the Bethesda Metro stop on the Red Line.
Admission is free, but you must reserve a seat in advance. Reservations are available to the first 80 people.
