This Date in Nats History – Zimmerman hits 7th career walk-off home run

July 31, 2005 – Livan Hernandez wins his 13th game of the season as the Nats beat the Florida Marlins 4-2. curly wHernandez improved his record 13-4 when he pitched eight innings and gave up only two earned runs to the Marlins. Chad Cordero pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Nats and registered his major league leading 35th save of the season.

July 31, 2010 – Ryan Zimmerman hits his seventh career walk-off home run in front of 38,049 fans at Nationals Park. In the bottom of the ninth inning Zimmerman, knocked in Michael Morse and Ian Kennedy when he took Brad Lidge of the Phillies deep to centerfield. The three run homer was Zimmerman’s 18th homer of the season. The Nats beat the Phillies 7-5.

July 31, 2011 – Brian Bixler scores the winning run when Ian Desmond hits a single off of the New Mets closer Bobby Parnell in the bottom of the ninth inning. The run gave the Nationals 3-2 victory over the Mets.
