Like any a good baseball team the winter months is a time to add new players to the squad and to let some existing players go. Here at D.C. Baseball Yesterday and Today we are just trying to put together a roster of writers together so our readers have plenty of stories about Washington D.C. baseball history from multiple writers. Our latest additions to our roster are George Case III and Jim Vankoski.
George Case III is the son of six time American League stolen base champ George Case II. George brings his knowledge of WWII era baseball in the nation’s capital to our site. You can learn more about Geroge Case III and his father at www.timelessbaseball.com.
Jim Vankoski is bringing a wealth of knowledge about one of Washington Senators greatest ballplayers, Mickey Vernon. Jim Vankoski is the curator at the Mickey Vernon Museum that is located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Jim has many wonderful stories and facts about Mickey Vernon and Mickey’s team mates that he is going to share with us.
I am extremely pleased George and Jim will be joining me and Mark Ahrens and Art Audley at D.C. Baseball Yesterday and Today. I am always looking for good stories and writers, so if you want to share your story or stories about Washington D.C. baseball history you can contact me at mhornbaker@comcast.net.
