Cortisone Shot solidifies Nats lineup

Most people are aware that the Washington Nationals’ third baseman Ryan Zimmerman received cortisone shot in his right shoulder on June 24 before the Nationals played the Baltimore Orioles. The star third baseman was struggling at the plate ever since he came off the disable list in early May. Since receiving the shot the entire batting line-up has been much improved.

Before Zimmerman received the shot he had a batting average of .218 and the team was hitting .238. In the 10 games since the cortisone shot Zimmerman’s average is .370 and his season’s average is now at .244 and the team’s average during the 10 game-span is .324 and the team’s season’s average is at .250.

Zimmerman’s improved hitting has sparked the entire line-up and the team is posting some very impressive hitting statistics during the past 10 games.
