2005 – John Patterson has another impressive outing as he struck out a career-high 13 in his first complete game shutout and led the Washington Nationals (58-50) past the Los Angeles Dodgers (48-60) 7-0 for the Nationals’ first series victory in a month. Patterson improved to 5-3 for the season with a 2.42 ERA.
Brad Wilkerson’s homer off reliever Duaner Sanchez with two outs in the eighth was Washington’s first grand slam of the season.
2007 – Ryan Zimmerman hit two home runs, and Joel Hanrahan added a two-run double in
his first ever major league win as Washington (50-60) crushed St. Louis Cardinals
(50-57) 12-1. The Nationals’ winning streak reached a season-best five games.
Hanrahan (1-0) struck out three and walked three in sending the Cardinals to their
fourth straight defeat.
2009 – Adam Dunn’s 28th home run of the season capped a six-run eighth-inning. Dunn’s
two-run homer gave the Washington Nationals (35-72) a come-from-behind 6-4 victory over
the Florida Marlins (55-51).
