2007 – Felipe Lopez hit a tiebreaking double in the eighth inning and the Washington Nationals overcame Barry Bonds’ record-breaking 756th career home run to beat the San Francisco Giants 8-6.
Bonds’ record breaking home run gave the Giants a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. He drove a 3-2 pitch from Mike Bacsik over the wall in right-center.
Felipe Lopez, Austin Kearns and Brian Schneider all homered for the Nationals, who have won seven of eight games.
2008 –Lastings Milledge and the Washington Nationals started playing their best baseball at the wrong time for Colorado.
In the first game of the doubleheader, Milledge went 3-for-4 with two homers and a career-high four RBIs. Milledge who was 5-for-9 with five RBIs in the doubleheader led Washington to a doubleheader sweep of the Rockies by identical 6-3 scores.
2009 – The Nationals won their season-high sixth straight game, when they beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6. They Nats were down 5-0 in the second inning and came back to win again. Josh Willingham’s seventh inning single to left scored Nyjer Morgan and Cristian Guzman and gave the Nats a 7-5 lead.
2012 –Danny Espinosa hit a two-run homer early, and his RBI single in the 12th inning put the Nats up 3-2 over the Houston Astros before Roger Bernadina collided with the wall while making a diving catch on Brett Wallace’s deep drive to centerfield the catch preserved the Nats victory
