2007 – Joel Hanrahan threw six innings of one-hit ball and Jesus Flores added a homer and two RBIs as the Washington Nationals (59-77) beat the San Francisco Giants (62-74) 4-1. The Nats’ victory ended a seven-game losing streak.
2008 – Ryan Zimmerman’s two-run home run helped the Washington Nationals (53-85) win their seventh consecutive game when they beat the Philadelphia Phillies (75-63) 7-4. Zimmerman’s homer to deep center-field capped off a four run fourth inning for the Nats.
2010 – The Nyjer Morgan fiasco. In the top of the sixth inning an angry Morgan charged the mound after a Chris Volstad pitch sailed behind him starting a bench-clearing brawl. The ordeal between Morgan and the Marlins started an evening earlier when in the 10th inning Morgan collided with Marlins’ catcher Brett Hayes. The collision left Hayes with a separated shoulder.
For Morgan on most counts he lost the battle and the Washington Nationals (57-77) lost the war as the Florida Marlins (67-65) hammered the Nats’ 16-10.
