2006 – Game one: Alfonso Soriano hit a two-run homer and rookie Ryan Zimmerman‘s bases-loaded walk in the 11th inning lifted the Washington Nationals over the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6.
The Nationals were behind 6-1 to the D-Backs in the 8th inning before staging the come back in the 11th inning for the hard fought victory.
Soriano’s 44th homer of the season tied a franchise record, plus tied him for 2nd on the Washington Baseball single season list with Washington Senators legend Frank Howard who hit 44 homers twice. Howard also holds the top spot with 48 home runs.
Game two: Austin Kearns and Ryan Zimmerman homered to lead the Washington Nationals (58-77) over Livan Hernandez and the Arizona Diamondbacks (64-71) 4-3 completing a sweep of the day-night doubleheader.
The Nationals rallied in both games of the doubleheader to extend their winning streak over the Diamondbacks at RFK Stadium to five.
2007 -Ryan Zimmerman’s ninth inning single to right field knocked in the game-winning RBI to give the Washington Nationals (60-77) a 2-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants (62-75).
2012 – Stephen Strasburg six scoreless innings, striking out nine as the Washington Nationals (81-52) beat the St. Louis Cardinals (72-62) 4-3.
