2005 – Esteban Loaiza led his Washington Nationals (71-66) past the Philadelphia Phillies (73-64) 6-1. Loaiza struck out 11 and took a shutout into the eighth on short rest, and Preston Wilson and Brian Schneider each hit a three-run homer as Washington gained a game on all three teams it trails in the NL wild-card standings.
2006 – Ramon Ortiz came within three outs of pitching the Nationals first no-hitter since the team moved from Montreal to Washington D.C. in 2005. The Washington Nationals (60-77) went on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals (73-63) 4-1.
2007 – Rookie catcher Jesus Flores hit s ninth-inning, two-run double that gave the Washington Nationals (62-77) a 4-3 win over the Florida Marlins (60-79).
2010 – John Lannan allowed only one run for the second consecutive start, Ivan Rodriguez had three hits and four RBIs and the Washington Nationals (58-78) broke a three-game losing streak with a 9-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates (45-90).
2012 – Adam LaRoche hit two of Washington’s six homers, Ian Desmond had four RBIs and the Nationals beat the Chicago Cubs 11-5. Desmond, Jesus Flores, Tyler Moore and Ryan Zimmerman also went deep for the Nats. The six home runs matched a team record. The other time the Nats hit six home runs was on May 20, 2011, in Baltimore.
2013 – Jordan Zimmermann became the National League’s first 16-game winner, pitching seven innings to lead the Washington Nationals (71-68) past the Philadelphia Phillies (63-77) 3-2t. Zimmermann (16-8) struck out five, walked one and allowed two runs in winning his fourth straight start.
