2007 – The Washington Nationals (69-87) beat the Phillies (85-71) 5-3, in what was perfect send-off for the last major league game at RFK. The stadium hosted the Senators from 1962-71, and has been the Nationals’ home since they moved from Montreal in 2005. The game drew the largest crowd of the season when 40,519 fans witnessed the club’s 122nd win over three years at RFK, against 121 losses.
2009 – Pete Orr‘s fly to right field in the ninth inning, allowing Justin Maxwell to score, and the Washington Nationals (52-99) averted their 100th loss of the season with a 5-4 victory over the a Los Angeles Dodgers (91-61).
Maxwell started the decisive rally with a single down the left-field line off James McDonald (5-5) to open the ninth. Alberto Gonzalez bunted Maxwell to second and Maxwell stole third on a curveball before Jorge Padilla walked.
2010 – Michael Morse homered, doubled and drove in three runs, Roger Bernadina and Danny Espinosa each hit a two-run shot and Ross Detwiler earned his first win in nearly a year as Washington Nationals (65-88) beat the Houston Astros (73-80) 7-2.
