2005 – Cristian Guzman had three hits and three RBI, Hector Carrasco pitched six strong innings and the Washington Nationals (79-78) beat Florida Marlins (80-77) 4-0.
2007 – Ryan Church homered and drove in four runs to lead the Washington Nationals (72-87) over the Mets (87-71) 10-9. The win completed a three-game sweep for the Nats at Shea Stadium.
2011 – Michael Morse hit his 30th home run, a three-run shot with two out in the ninth inning, to rally Washington Nationals past the Florida Marlins (71-89) 6-4.
The Nationals clinched third place in the NL East. They’re the first team from Washington to finish as high as third since 1945.
2012 – Bryce Harper hit his 20th homer, Ian Desmond and Kurt Suzuki also connected and the Nationals(94-61) beat the Philadelphia Phillies (78-77) 8-4 to move closer toward winning their first division title since moving to Washington.
The 19-year-old Harper joined Tony Conigliaro as the only teenagers to reach 20 homers in major league history.
