Bryce Harper’s two homers and Stephen Strasburg’s seven scoreless innings led the defending NL East champion Washington Nationals, a 2-0 victory over the Miami Marlins.
The 20-year-old Harper was playing in his first season opener with the Nats’. The Nats’ left fielder came out of the dugout for a curtain call after the second homer, The crowd of 45,274 at Nationals Park were on their feet giving the young star an standing ovation as Harper is pumping his right fist above his head.
