Bill Everitt began his major league career way back in April of 1895 with the Chicago National League franchise then known as the Colts.
Playing in 133 games his first season, Everitt would hit .358. Everitt would remain in Chicago through mid-May of 1900. He’d hit above .300 his first 5 seasons, but would see his average dip to .264 in his last year in Chicago when he’d be traded to Kansas City of the American Association.
Starting out his career primarily as a 3rd baseman, Everitt would also play in the outfield but would eventually find a home at 1st base.
Jumping to the Washington Senators in the first season of play for the newy formed American League, Everitt would appear in 33 games but his batting average would continue to drop and he’d make his last major league appearance in May, hitting just .191.
