Warren Washington (Jack) Jenkins B Dec. 22, 1942 D Jun. 18, 2002
Signed by the expansion Senators prior to their first season, Jack Jenkins would join the the Senators roster in mid-September of 1962. He’d pitch in 3 games his first year, posting an 0-1 record. In 1963, Jenkins would appear in another 4 games, going 0-2.
Remaining in the Senators orgainzation, Jenkins would be sold to the LA Dodgers and add a footnote to his career by pitching in 1 last game with the Dodgers at the end of September 1969.
William Gorman Kennedy B Dec. 22, 1918 D Aug. 20, 1995
Alexandria, Virginia native Bill Kennedy would first pitch for the original Senators in May of 1942. Appearing in 8 games, he’d compile an 0-1 record in 18 innings with an even 8.00 ERA.
Kennedy would not return to the Senators until 1946 when he’d pitch in 21 games, posting a 1-2 mark with an ERA of 6.00.
2 more games at the end of the 1947 season would be the end of Kennedy’s brief stay in the majors.
Owen Dennis Ignatius Shannon B Dec. 22, 1879 D Apr. 10, 1918
Owen Shannon would make his way to the major leagues with the St. Louis Browns in 1903. Playing in 9 games, he’d hit .214 while serving as a catcher.
Shannon would make it back to the majors in 1907 for 4 games with the Senators, going 1 for 7 at bat, his last appearance in the majors coming in late August.
