1960 Just 2 days after the expansion draft, the expansion Senators make their first trade, shipping newly acquired pitcher Bobby Schantz to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for Harry Bright, Bennie Daniels and R. C. Stevens.

Barbra O’Neil Chrisley B Dec. 16, 1931 D May 18, 2013
Signed by the Boston Red Sox prior to the start of the 1950 season, outfielder Neil Chrisley would never play for the Red Sox.
Traded to the Washington Senators, along with Dick Brodowski, minor-leaguer Al Curtis, Tex Clevenger and Karl Olson in exchange for Bob Porterfield, Johnny Schmitz, Tom Umphlett and Mickey Vernon after the 1955 season, Chrisley would finally make his major league debut with the Senators in mid-April of 1957. Chrisley would only appear in 26 games for the Senators, hitting .157 with 2 doubles, 1 triple and 3 RBI’s.
Back with the Senators in 1958, Chrisley would play in 105 games, raising his BA to .215.
After the 1958 season, Chrisley would be on the move again, traded to the Detroit Tigers, along with Rocky Bridges and Eddie Yost in exchange for Reno Bertoia, Jim Delsing (who holds the dubious distinction of pinch running for Eddie Gaedel while with the St. Louis Browns) and Ron Samford.
Chrisley would play in Detroit in 1959 and 1960, the best year of his career batting wise would be in 1960, when he’d hit .255.
Traded again, this time to the Milwaukee Braves, Chrisley would play in 10 games, his last major league appearance coming in late September of 1961.
Hugh Raphael McMullen B Dec. 16, 1901 D May 23, 1986
Catcher Hugh McMullen began his brief major league journey in 1925, playing in 5 games for the New York Giants. He’d return to play in 57 games for the Giants in 1926, hitting .187.
McMullen would join the ranks of Senators “One Game Wonders” in 1928, going 0-1 at bat in his only appearance in a Washington uniform.
He’d also be a One Game Wonder with the Cincinnati Reds in April of 1929 when he’d again go 0-1 in his last major league appearance.
William Tilford Otey B Dec. 16, 1886 D Apr. 23, 1931
“Steamboat Bill” Otey hurled in 3 games for the 1907 Pittsburgh Pirates, posting an 0-1 record with a 4.41 ERA.
Reappearing in the majors with the Senators in 1910, Otey would go 0-1 in 9 games.
Back with the Senators in 1911, Steamboat Bill would pitch in 12 games, getting his only major league win, compiling a 1-3 record with a 6.34 ERA.
Steamboat Bill would hoist anchor in late June of 1911, setting sail for someplace other than the major leagues.
