1916 With the emergence of Joe Judge at 1B, the Washington Senators sell Chick Gandil to Cleveland for $7,500.
Gandil, (See Jan. 19th birthdays.) who played for the Senators from 1912 through 1915 would spend just 1 year in Cleveland and finish his career with the Chicago White Sox from 1917 through 1919.
Judge (See May 25th birthdays.) would play for the Senators from 1915 through 1932 and finish his career with short stints with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1933 and the Boston Red Sox in 1933 and 1934.

Robert Eugene LaMotte B Feb. 15, 1898 D Nov. 2, 1970
Infielder Bobby LaMotte would play briefly for the Senators in 1920, 1921 and 1922, playing in a grand total of 88 games. He’d return to the major leagues in 1925 with the St. Louis Browns playing parts of the 1925 and 1926 seasons. His most active season would be 1925 when he’d play in 97 games, hitting .272.
Wilson Daniel (Dee) Miles B Feb. 15, 1909 D Nov. 2, 1976
Outfielder Dee Miles would make his major league debut with the Washington Senators in July of 1935 as a 26 year old rookie. Playing in 60 games, Miles would hit .265. He’d play in another 25 games for the Senators in 1936.
Out of the majors in 1937 and 1938, Miles would be traded by the Senators to the Philadelphia Athletics in August of 1938 for Bill Nicholson and cash.
Miles would return to the majors with the A’s in 1939, hitting .300 or better each year from 1939 through 1941. He’d remain in Philadelphia through 1942.
Miles would finish his major league career playing in 45 games for the 1943 Boston Red Sox.
