Frank Williard Brower B Mar. 26, 1893 D Nov. 20, 1960

Arriving in the major leagues with the Senators in mid-August of 1920, outfielder/1st baseman Frank Brower would appear in 36 games hitting .311.

Brower would play in 83 games for the Senators in 1921 and would have the most active season of his career in 1922, playing in 139 games, hitting .293 with 20 doubles, 6 triples, 9 home runs and being credited with 71 RBI, undoubtedly the best season of his short career.

Traded to the Cleveland Indians for Joe Evans after the 1922 season, Brower would play just 2 more years in Cleveland, his last major league game coming in late September of 1924.

Charles Moran

Infielder Charles Moran was a very early Senator, beginning his short major league career in late April of 1903. Playing in 98 games for Washington, Moran would hit .225.

Starting the 1904 season in Washington, Moran would appear in 62 games for the Senators when he was traded to the St. Louis Browns for Hunter Hill and Frank Huelsman.

Moran would hit .173 for the Browns in 82 games to end the 1904 season. He’d start the 1905 campaign with the Browns, making his last major league appearance in mid-June.

William Henry Zuber B Mar. 26, 1913 D Nov. 2, 1982

Pitcher Bill Zuber joined the Cleveland Indians late in the 1936 season, going 1-1 in 2 games with a 6.59 ERA. Out of the majors in 1937, Zuber would return with the Indians in 1938. He’d remain on the Cleveland roster through 1940.

Purchased by the Washington Senators at the start of the 1941 season, Zuber’s most active seasons would come in the 2 years he spent with the Senators. He appear in 36 games in 1941, going 6-4 and 37 games in 1942, compiling a 9-9 record.

Traded to the New York Yankees, along with some cash for Milo Candini and Jerry Priddy, Zuber would go 8-4 for the Yankees in 1943.

He’d remain with the Yankees through mid-June of 1946 when he was purchased by the Boston Red Sox. In Boston, Zuber would finish the 1946 season going 5-1 in 15 games and would get his only taste of post-season play, appearing in 1 game of the World Series as the Red Sox lost to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Zuber’s last season would be 1947 when he’d pitch in 20 games posting a 1-0 record, his last game coming in late September.
